Let's Help Jerry's Kids~

May 7th, I will be 'locked up' for Jerry's kids.
Those of you that I have an email address for have already been sent a note asking for your help. I will be "arrested, escorted by police to a local holding area, given a bite to eat, and held under house arrest until bond has been reached". Please help by sending a donation to this awesome cause.

Red Envelope Day~

There is an email traveling across the nation.
The idea is to send an empty red envelope
to President Obama representing all
the aborted babies with the following
written on the outside of the envelope:
"This envelope represents one child who died in abortion.
It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything
to the world. Responsibility begins with conception."
The President’s address is:
President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.
Washington , D.C. 20500
Put your return address on the envelope.
Without a return address, the post office
will not deliver to the White House.
Seal and mail the empty envelope.
Mail this Tuesday, March 31.
Why stop it there? Why not send red envelopes
to your elected officials?! If red envelopes are hard to find,
they can be made from red cardstock. Click here
to be directed to a link that will give you a template.
It already has the wording on it.All you need do
is copy it on red paper, cut it out,
paste the tabs and address.
I feel strongly about this and will send out
my red envelope in the morning.
I wish you would, too. Together,
we CAN make a difference~

This Is My Baby~

and God brought this man into her life,
into our lives~
and they have gifted us with,
two precious grandsons~
one a bit sillier than the other~
but they bring such joy each time
we can all be together,
which is normally on Sunday afternoons~
I hope your Sunday was as much fun
and filled with as much laughter,
as ours was this weekend.

So, this is Noah.
He is our third grandson,
our fourth grandchild.
He is a funny child.
A very affectionate child,
a let-me-see-if-I-can-irritate-Ian child,
but also a silly, funny, happy child.
Jenny said he put this costume together
all by himself. I can believe that.
Now that the storms are past,
and we didn't get blown away,
I thought we'd celebrate
with something to laugh about.
So here's Noah~
And if you aren't smiling,
then you seriously need some meds.

strong storms
low 64 degrees F
precip: 100%
tornado watch until 5 am
saturday, march 28th

So, this is what I saw tonight
when I looked up our weather forcast.
Meridian, MS is being pounded
as I write this. We spoke with Leslie,
earlier, and there was much damage
in a small town where friends live.
It will be interesting to see
how many times the sirens go off
tonight and through tomorrow.
This small town of ours
still becomes fearful when storms
roar through ~ making national news
wasn't fun for east Prattville in '08.
Now John & I reside in east Prattville.
Just might be an interesting time~
On a funnier note! Ian came into Jenny's room this morning, asking her to help 'untangle him'. She posted these snapshots on their blog tonight and I laughed out loud when I saw them. Don't you just love kids?! Apparently, he got to playing with his Mardi Gras beads and couldn't decide how to get them off.
Yeah, he's tangled up pretty good.
I'll let you know how we fared with the coming storms.
Let me know what happened at your house!

It's not raining here
yet ~ but it will.
And when it does,
I'll be asleep
and dreaming
of another place,
in another time.

Welcome, Nic!

I taught this precious person
at Holtville Elementary, and
her husband was in my first class!
I encourage you to check out
her blog ~ she's new to this ~
at Rocky Pastures
and leave her a kind comment
welcoming her to our world!
Here's to you, Nicole,
and a great way to make friends
and journal life with your boys~

Okay, So ~

I 'borrowed' this snapshot from a friend
on Facebook, but I merely did it
to show you just one more time
what I miss about living
out west, and having snow,
and seeing the white stuff
on the ground, in the trees,
and knowing it's cold!
and not hot!
or stuffy!
And yeah, I'm still waiting
for o.n.e. more
snowfall~

Mr. President

This was an article in the St. Petersburg Times newspaper. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How would you fix the economy?" One guy nailed it.

Dear Mr. President,
Patriotic retirement. There's about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them a $1 million severance apiece. This severance would come with these stipulations:
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings. Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy a new American car. Forty million cars ordered. Auto industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their existing mortgage. Housing crisis fixed.

Now, why does it have to be so complicated? Forget AIG and all the other companies wanting handouts. Give it to the people, let us help the economy. His answer sounds like a good idea to me; and, thank you Deborah Aldridge for sending this to me today~

It's Spring!

It is officially Spring, 2009~
and I'm still waiting for another snowfall.

Oh, Amanda!

I forgot!! I have had your items and I forgot to mail them!! UNTIL, I received my swap gifts from Mandi Courington in Trussville, Alabama! Hey, Mandi!! I got them!! Yesterday!! March 18th. I'm not sure how long it has been since you mailed them. They went to our old address and I forgot to go check our mail. BUT ~

I love what you sent and shall share it with all of you as soon as I upload snapshots! You nailed me, Mandi. OR do you love Christmas, Gatlinburg, and smiles as much as I do?!

So, Amanda, look for yours!! I pinky promise to have it in the mail before the week ends!! Truly. Honest.

Spring-Nancy Sig.Tag
PS ~ I love love love the lotion, Mandi!!! and the ornament? It's hanging from the lamp by my bed. The framed sentiment? Wow, girl. You rock.

Guess What?!

Is it apparent I love Christmas?

Happy St. Paddy's Day, everyone!

This Child of Mine

 Isn't she beautiful?
This daughter of ours.
Pregnant, so contented~
I've seen this snapshot,
but looked at it once more
when I visited their blog tonight.
Everything she dreams of
has come true for her.
My baby is having a baby.
And I am so in love,
still so in love,
with this child of mine,
and with her babies~
Oh, little one to be,
I cannot wait to meet you.

The Park~

Here are a few snapshots I took tonight,
of our home, in the 'castle'~
It's raining outside. Still.
But it's warm, dry,
and oh so cozy inside.
Dreaming kind of weather~
I found this great ottoman at Kirkland's,
and Ian has already stretched out on it
while watching a movie with Pa~
The drapes? On sale, at Penney's.
They look better than this shows,
full, romantic, a bit exotic~
and my view from the computer,
as I sat down to rest.
How many of you, like me,
love the way your home looks at night,
with candles and the glow of a lamp~
when you know the one you love,
loves you and you're safe
and you're home. and you know that dreams do come true~

One of My Bad Habits!

"To this day, Coca-Cola uses an ingredient from coca leaf extract prepared by a Stepan Co. plant in New Jersey, using a process monitored by the DEA. Because cocaine is naturally present in coca leaves, today's Coca Cola uses 'spent', or treated, coca leaves that have been through a cocaine extraction process, in order to flavor the beverage. The drink contains trace amounts of this stimulant and remains under FDA watchful eye. Chair heads have been forewarned that any addition to the syrup will classify it as an illegal drug." ~ Reader's Digest

So yes, Amanda, we have good reasons to love this drink. And yes, it also is great at cleaning your car battery, too!! But give it up entirely, well, I am just not there yet, but I am trying!! We'll be each other's support group!

Jenny works at Cute As A Button,
and today she came to help
with a large shipment.
And Noah came along!
The shipment was late arriving,
and we enjoyed sitting with Noah~
one of his favorite books~
I loved watching them.
and she loved sneaking kisses~
My turn!
Oh, and get a good look
at those thunder thighs.
I WILL lose twenty pounds by
the end of the year and
get toned up as well!
Noah wanted a 'nack'
and he knows we keep
'goldfish' in the kitchen.
His idea of eating is to stuff
his mouth before Ian can get any.
Ian wasn't even here, but Noah
still stuffs. Regardless.
I asked Jenny to get a shot
of Noah in his new outfit.
We have a photo album at the shoppe
for kids in CAAB clothing.
Noah
didn't
want
to
take
pictures!
This is as good as it got.
Noah took this one himself!
and ate off and on as he ran
back and forth when he heard
the bell ring. He'd call out,
'Coot as a butn!'
I'm so in love~
We didn't finish checking in
the shipment ~ it was huge!
But we truly enjoyed
our time together!

UPDATE! I haven't lost twenty pounds yet, but I've lost 16!! I WILL be under 150 by 2010!
