Hello, December

One of my favorite months in one of my favorite seasons~
I am truly a Winter gal!
Everything about this time of year thrills my soul~
I've chosen a few favorite photos to share~
They make me happy, nostalgic
and just excited clear to my toes!
Thru the years we celebrate by giving gifts~
Gifts of the heart to another's heart.
And we celebrate a birth, a very special birth.
A child that made me a daughter of a King.
Not just any king, but the King of Kings.
And for this, I'm eternally grateful.
What an awesome time~
What an awesome Father,
to love us so much He sent His only Son.
Hello, December. I'm so glad you're here.
Wrap me in your cooler weather, your scents
and sights of the season, and the history
of the season. Blessings to your & yours~

A Daily Blessing

One of my favorite blogs is Melissa Lester's, A Little Loveliness. A precious Christian sister that has a beautiful way with words. Within the devotional that captured my attention while spending time on her site was a few paragraphs of her oldest son. It painted such pictures in my mind that I literally felt I was standing on the sidewalk watching Carson along with her.

There are many facets to Melissa's blog, one of which are her devotionals. (You can access them from a tab on the top bar.) I pray you enjoy it as much as I have this morning and that it touches your heart in such a way that we all begin to truly enjoy the moments of our days. Our Father has given so many blessings that I don't want to miss a single one. What about you?!

We have a rain front moving in overnight and my head is beginning to throb a bit. Time to go to the doTerra cabinet and get started on stopping a weather induced migraine. I don't know about you but mine seem to increase the older I get instead of decreasing {big frown font}. On the bright side, it's Autumn {HAPPY font} and I love each and every day this season brings. And then Winter! {HUGE HAPPY font}. My very, very favorite season of each year. But I won't rush you to it yet, let's enjoy the changing leaves and the crisp cool days of Autumn.
Enjoy Catching the Breeze and have an awesome day.

Asperatus Clouds

These are called Asperatus Clouds. Seriously. I Googled it. I've never seen anything like these! And the other images available to view were just as awesome. Or weird and scary. Depending on where you stand with the Lord {smile font}. I just told The Hood if I had seen something like this before tonight, I would definitely be yelling for him to "Come here!! Jesus is coming back!" Oh, what a grand day that will be! Wonder what the sky will look like?! Okay, just had to share this. Praying you feel as happy with your thoughts of Eternity as me. If not, please reconsider your position. There is a Heaven. And there is a Hell. Seriously.
Here's two more. Wowzer.
The above? It's my favOrite. Looks like a piece of ribbon!

Hope You're Having a Happy Blustery Day!

Oh the wind is lashing lusterly
And the trees are thrashing thrusterly
And the leaves are rustling gusterly
So it's rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubteadly
Looks like a rather blustery day today
It seems that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubteadly
Looks like a rather blustery day today!

Hurricanes, Hugs, & Home

Well, let's get Hurricane Isaac out of the way. We are under Hurricane Warning now, with voluntary evacuation. At this time, The Hood and I have every intention of staying home and preparing for several days with no electricity. I would love to think he would allow me to go down to the beach, that isn't barricaded to the public, and take some photos but I know the man well enough that he'd physically hold me down before he'd let me do that. I love storms. I mean I really love storms. And hey! This is our first hurricane since moving here! This photo I took this afternoon from the 2nd floor porch of a local church. I had gone for a Beth Moore study only to find that they were sandbagging and taping up windows. So I wandered around and made some new friends. "To everything there is a season" ~
Prayerfully, our beaches will look just this pristine by next weekend. Maybe we'll have seaweed litter and a few more Man 'O Wars and jellyfish pushed this way, but I can deal with that. Everything in the gulf has teeth. Or a barb. So I only go in for one reason, and just far enough for that. If there's a restroom close by, I don't go in the water at all. 'Jaws' did it for me, although I did watch all 98 sequels of it and loved everyone of them. However, I swim in a pool. Not oceans or gulfs, nor rivers or lakes. If I cannot see what's under my butt bottom, I don't get in. Just don't. Moving on! Please pray that Isaac fizzles out and doesn't even do more than give us all some rain. No lost lives, no severe damage. LA has seen enough, as has Mississippi. I'm praying that God just lets Isaac die.
On the home front, sweet Elle wasn't able to begin school this past week with her brothers due to being sick. She had her dress, shoes, and NEW backpack and lunch box all set out with the gift for her teacher. Then the night before, fever set in and she was one sick little girl for several days. Doctor suggested she stay home this week and begin the following week. She will go into K3 and this Nan is wondering when she grew up. It's bad enough to know our oldest baby is in the 4th grade this year. At what point do I cease calling them babies? I've decided I'll think about it later. Not now. And not only did Elle NOT get to go to school, her brother Noah got to go with a cast on his arm.
He's handling it just fine. Fractured his elbow and hopefully won't have to have the cast much longer. This was the first day of school. Ian's giving baby girl a hug since she can't go. She looks happy to be standing with them though {smile font} I'm looking forward to seeing photos tomorrow of Miss Elle going to school for her first day! She and Noah attend the same school and I like that. Ian is attending a new school this year and is loving it. Even began riding the bus home last week. Jenny said he gets home before she would were she to go through car pick up.
Happy Birthday, sweet Austin! 9 years old. No, no,no, slow down. It would make Nan so much happier. Saturday he and Alaina, below, were involved in soccer games all day long. I think Alaina made four goals during one of her games. She and Austin love their sports!
Below is my favorite way to read a book {wink font} The book in question was 'Tick Tock' by James Patterson and the ice cream is Neapolitan with Kix cereal thrown in for crunch. Oh yum. Buuut, I had to cease buying the ice cream. You know that thing called a scale? Yeah, I have one. Nasty thing.
One of my favorite vignettes in our home. And it's in my kitchen window. The photo was taken after Jenny and Brandon's wedding, the shells from our beaches, and John bought the air succulent (is that what they're called?) at our favorite shop. I feel happy deep inside each time I'm at the sink.
The following photos? They made me laugh. Out loud!! So you get to see them, too. Because when I put them on here for you, I get to see them each time I come here and that'll make me laugh once more. Laughter. Good for the soul and all those around you. Have a safe week. A God filled week with much love and laughter! Remember, pray that Isaac fizzles out! Blessings ~

Did you find one that made you giggle? Or laugh out loud? I love the weather one, but my fav of these four? The one about the beaters!!! I can just picture trying to grab some batter with a spinning beater and getting it all over your face. Slays me every time I read it. Okay, so this is it. Really. The End. I'll update and let you know how tame, or not, Isaac was where we live. Again, blessings!

Oopsy Daisy

Not sure where I came across this, but if it's yours let me know and I'll give you due credit! Now on with today's post. There's not one. I had lunch, then dinner with two besties and by the time I got settled in to post on our first day at Disney, I decided to catch up on my blog roll. And y'all there are some really neat places just waiting to be found. Following a link at Hooked on Houses, I found Real Estalker and have spent the last hour or so reading her blogs on celebrity homes. My sweetheart will be home soon so today's post will have to wait until tomorrow. The above photo makes me feel cool and refreshed, which is something that is NOT happening outside at this moment. It was 101 degrees after 5 pm today! Humidity level is at 75%! And I hate sweating. Hate hate hate it, because as any true Southern woman will tell you, we don't sweat. We glisten. I don't like humidity. If it's going to rain, then rain. Don't tease me with droplets dripping under my bangs and down the back of my neck. Ew. So let's all think cool, Cool, CoOl, CooL, COOL!

It's Coming!

Get ready. It's going to thunder tonight!
WhooHoo!!!!
A sleeping day tomorrow!!!!

Hmm, Which Would I Rather Have?

We got this,

and THIS! WhoopWhoop!!!

But we didn't get this. Ah well, I'd rather have the Championship!

It's in the 20's!

It's cold in central Alabama!
Really cold. Go right through you cold!
Don't get me wrong, I don't want this,
but I would love
for this to happen again!
It did once, it could again!
So yeah, I'm wishin' and a hopen'

strong storms
low 64 degrees F
precip: 100%
tornado watch until 5 am
saturday, march 28th

So, this is what I saw tonight
when I looked up our weather forcast.
Meridian, MS is being pounded
as I write this. We spoke with Leslie,
earlier, and there was much damage
in a small town where friends live.
It will be interesting to see
how many times the sirens go off
tonight and through tomorrow.
This small town of ours
still becomes fearful when storms
roar through ~ making national news
wasn't fun for east Prattville in '08.
Now John & I reside in east Prattville.
Just might be an interesting time~
On a funnier note! Ian came into Jenny's room this morning, asking her to help 'untangle him'. She posted these snapshots on their blog tonight and I laughed out loud when I saw them. Don't you just love kids?! Apparently, he got to playing with his Mardi Gras beads and couldn't decide how to get them off.
Yeah, he's tangled up pretty good.
I'll let you know how we fared with the coming storms.
Let me know what happened at your house!

Spring-Nancy Sig.Tag

It's not raining here
yet ~ but it will.
And when it does,
I'll be asleep
and dreaming
of another place,
in another time.

From the moment we got to our condo,
I began asking for snow. I didn't need much,
but I wanted snow. And for the first
two days, it was cold. And damp.
But no snow.
This was the road as we drove into Cades Cove,
Saturday. We both enjoy this area.
We saw lots and lots of deer. Lots of turkey.
No bears. No snow.
I love these old homes.
What I don't like is the low ceiling.
Makes for a tight spot.

Sunday, we drove into the park and up
towards Clingman's Dome. No,
we did not climb it. I do not hike.
I do not enjoy sweating. Or puffing.
Posed snapshots.
Do you have shots like these?
Then, came Monday.
We walked out onto the porch,
and it was colder, and wetter.
On our way back from downtown,
it began to drizzle. Yuck. We decided to explore some of the roads
in the Gatlinburg area, and guess what?
It began to snow.
and I had to have my picture in it!
John loves watching Robert Alewine
do his pottery thing. This trip
we went to his store and met him.
And bought a coffee mug.
I think I'll give Hood
some pottery lessons.
When we got ready to leave his store,
this is what greeted us!!
And it continued to snow,
and snow, and snow!!!
and John wondered
if we should go home.
Horrors!
I was getting my snow!
And okay, ice,
which made me nervous.
I like my cute little car
with no dents in the bumpers!

We left this morning around 10 am
and it was still snowing.
In fact, it snowed all the way
to the interstate and beyond.
Our trip was awesome.
Very relaxing, very restful.
And I got my snow.

Sure wish it had followed me home.

PS~There's a video that follows taken as we drove from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge. Or maybe it was the other way around~
