America Needs You, God

 we are bruised and battered
heart broken and incredibly sad
but we serve a God that is just and One of mercy
He has not forsaken us, rather wanting us
to turn to Him in fervent prayer
join me in praying that hearts will be changed for the good
that our leaders will look to Him instead of themselves
that we will not lose hope nor cease caring about each other
and that this nation i love will be great once more
"one nation, under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all"

Where Is the Justice?

Remember the terror. Remember the people-filled buildings. Planes.

Remember these four faces.
There has been no justice for them.
Sons. Brothers. Fathers.
Demand justice for them.
Remember them.

Leslie's Baby Shower

leslie is pregnant
our middle child
last one to marry (and to another gem)
last one to give us a grandchild (so we're told)
her shower was saturday, and she glowed
owen will be here the end of march
need I tell you how thrilled we all are
there were oodles of family there
and oodles of friends
and the most delicious food
i heard leslie say
they were all her favorites
so i think she planned the menu
robin and jeff decorated beautifully
and i think there's little more they need
other than diapers and clothing
yes, there were oodles of gifts
i love this middle child and her husband
who i am sure was handpicked from our lord
and i cannot wait to meet their baby boy
stacey, on the left, leslie, and jenny, on the right
can i say again how i love these girls
there
i've said it
we laugh so much when we're together
and we treasure the time dearly
it's not often they're all in one place
with the kids and men
but when they are we adore each moment
apparently, someone hasn't told obama that those that refuse to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. kennedy said it. reagan said it. and other great men in our history have said it. so why hasn't someone slammed a book in his face and said, "read this!"

for i am afraid, we are doomed to repeat history
and if i didn't have my god, i'd be afraid.
but my God can beat anyone's god
He's bigger and badder
so bring it on, obama
let my God show yours

Let's Be Serious, Then I'll Be Funny

I have to tell you, our Congress and this President scare me. I would love to find grounds to impeach him and start over with, or maybe without, a Congress. We have compromised so much already on gun control. We need to feel safe. Schools need to be secure. The last several weeks all I've heard are hearings on gun control. What about funding education - hey, that's a new one! NOT! - and put security guards in schools. Restructure fronts doors to be security conscious. There's much that can be done to make a school and it's grounds more secure, but for that you need money. And guess what doesn't get much money in too many states in the Union? Education. Our children. We actually spend more money on the prisoners in the state of Alabama than we do on our school age children. That is sad. That is uncalled for. Guns aren't the problem. People are the problem. Secure a property and it deters unwanted intruders. That's my soapbox for tonight.
When I saw this, I knew it was me. I love to laugh. At anything. And when you go to someplace like a beach, a football game, Wally World, there are people. And there's always something to laugh at or about with people or animals. I love AFV!!! Those dummies! And yes, I laugh at me. In fact, I laugh the hardest then.
We have wonderful plans for the weekend. A baby shower for our newest grandchild! We shall finally celebrate Christmas with our daughters and their families! (We had the flu yuck and Jenny's family had ear infections etc, so we postponed) Having a shower on the same day makes for a fun-filled day. We'll finish it off at a favorite Mexican restaurant, the grands will get a whole day to play with each other (praying the weather lasts) and I'm hoping someone remembers to take lots of photos! I was made fun of not too many years ago for always having a camera handy. Now I forget {sniff font}. Here's hoping Stacey and Jenny have theirs! I pray you have a great, laughter filled weekend, yourself!

Veterans Day 2012

I am honored to be a descendant of a long history of servicemen. My paternal g'mother was a genealogist and traced our ancestors back to their European homes. What I'm most proud of, however, is the fact that from the Revolutionary War all the way to the ending of the Korean Conflict, I have had great great ... grandfathers and a father that served for our country. My brothers were much too young for the Vietnam Conflict and the draft had ended by the time they graduated. However, I have two nephews that served. One with the United States Marines and another with the United States Air Force. I am so proud of these men, and for all our servicemen and women who sacrificed to keep America free from tyranny. May God bless you and God bless America ~

A Few Good Men ~

These snapshots came from Jen's blog ~
and they just stirred something in my heart.
Of course, who doesn't get goosebumps seeing
men in blue carrying Old Glory. Does it every time.
(And the fact that the background is a revitalized area of downtown!) Noah loves loves loves his mum and dad,
and never gets too far from either of them. Today it was his dad.
Don't you just love that 'Mr. Cool' get up? I do.
Can't wait to get my hands on him tomorrow when they come over.
And my other favorite photo? This one ~It's my baby girl with her baby girl ~ got goosebumps again.

I'm going out on a limb here. I'm not afraid of you disagreeing with me, in fact, I don't even care. What I do care about is the way in which the World would have our children grow up too quickly. Read on for a bit, then I'll tell you what I want you to do.

"tweens - that highly coveted marketing segment ranging from 7-12 - have spent $1.6 million on thong underwear." TIME, September 28, 2003"
"I was not totally shocked by that statistic, having worked with 7th - 12th grade girls for the last 10 years. However, it is still hard to believe that girls as young as 7 would wear thong underwear, that they even make thong underwear for little girls. Scratch that...it's hard to believe a mother would buy thong underwear for her 7 year old."

In 2009, Dannah Gresh and The Bod Squad will present a petition to both the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the Apparel and Footwear Manufacturer's Association asking that clothing be age proper. Dannah is the author of "And the Bride Wore White", which is a book that helps teach young girls how to obtain and retain their purity until marriage.
She hopes that as a result, Women’s Wear Daily, the global “bible” of the fashion industry, will cover the petition and tell the fashion world. Dannah has been interviewed twice by the magazine to discuss the industries marketing of sensual clothing to tweens. She has their ear, but she needs your support to send them a clear message. Will you join The Bod Squad?

The Bod Squad Petition:
We believe that the fashion industry is pressuring little girls to grow up too fast! The findings of two years of study by an APA (American Psychological Association) task force state that clothing, which makes girls appear older, and the associated marketing efforts are linked to eating disorders, low self-esteem, and depression. Ironically, this early sexualization presented to young girls also has “negative consequences on girls’ ability to develop healthy sexuality.” We would like to request that industry leaders send a message to the fashion industry that mothers want to purchase age-appropriate clothing for our little girls and would like the fashion industry to evaluate the clothing they design and the messages they send to our daughters through advertising.

Why Aren't We Praying?

From: ELIZABETH ROHN-NELSON
Subject: Prayer can move mountains, why not Obama?
Being dismayed recently when a family member of mine said to me with great resignation that Obama will take the presidency. These words came from someone who in the past has been a great prayer warrior. What is happening?? was my question. Why are we Christians settling and not issuing a battle cry and falling to our knees and taking our country back?

We allow ourselves to be stripped of the right to pray at school functions and in school, we have the 10 commandments removed from government places and are told we cannot pray in school, all the while providing public prayer places for Muslims. What in the world is going on and why are we being apathetic? Why aren't we praying?

Our God is a mighty God who is waiting patiently for us to raise our voices to heaven to stop the tide of the anti-Christ actions in our world today. Now we find we have a charismatic candidate for president who does not respect our flag and refuses to wear one on his lapel except when it becomes politically expedient and whose own wife and pastor that he loves profess to have strong anti-white feelings, and we sit back and say "it is a given, we can do nothing."

There has never been a time in 2000 years that we can do nothing, never a time that we must sit back and allow the evil in men's and women's hearts to take over our world. We should be very afraid because our apathy is leading us to perdition.

It is time for all Christian Americans to raise the battle cry and take our nation back. Maybe McCain on his own cannot defeat Obama, but our God can and He will if we take to our knees in prayer and raise a mighty cry to the heavens to "Save us O Lord." We have the power to change the course of this election and to keep a man as suspect as Barak Obama from leading our country to who knows where with his message of "change" - a change which I fear will be away from our Christian ideals and away from Christ and further away from one nation under God.

We are great at passing stories and pictures around the internet, but where are our prayers and (are our) prayer warriors praying to stop this tide of Barak Obama? God parted the red sea, Jesus raised himself from the dead, and we can bring our country back to its Christian roots and stop the move to the rise of Muslims in our country. We can stop our country from being "under Allah," but we must begin to pray, to pray as if our country and our lives depended on it, because they do. We can stop all these atrocities against God's commands that have taken root in our country through something as simple as sincere prayer, a call to God to deliver us, to forgive us our sins of apathy and to protect us from the evil that is upon us.

Okay prayer warriors, here is your challenge, start those prayer chains. Get the spiritual power working on our behalf and stop Barak Obama the proper way, by calling on our God to save us from the deception that charismatic preaching is using to lead us on the wrong path. Stop those who would take God out of our country and our government. Raise up good men to lead us and protect us.

George Bush is being buffeted because he has fought a holy war against the evils that attack us and we should not be surprised because a prophet is not honored in his own country. But we should not rest on our laurels and allow ourselves to be taken further off the path of Christianity and to have God removed from our presence in our schools, courts, government and businesses. Invite God into the fray. Ask that His power rest upon us and give us the victory. Ask him to raise up a mighty army to defend us and to protect our country as he did in days of old. Let us be victorious beginning NOW. The battle is His but we must call on Him without ceasing and unite our voices and hearts in prayer and fasting.

Please pass this around to all people of prayer that you know and maybe, just maybe a more eloquent person of prayer will write something better and more inspiring and even the rocks will shout that Jesus is Lord and our Mighty God is with us, bringing the victory for us and ultimately for Him.

"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
I Thess 5:16-18

Continuous Prayer is the answer to this attack on the USA. Please pray the Will of God will prevail through our continuous prayers to HIM. Remember Prayer Can... Move Mountains
